The Ann Arbor T-shirt Company, a group of around 48 artists, screen printers, art technicians, logistics professionals, embroiderers, and support staff, is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We take great pride in designing, printing, and embroidering the majority of our products entirely in our local factory.

Our story began as a dorm room project between two friends at the University of Michigan, and has since grown to a business shipping apparel worldwide from the state of Michigan. What sets our products apart is our commitment to quality, ethics, and American craftsmanship.

All of our workers receive fair wages, healthcare, 401k matches, and catered employee meals. The machinery, inks, and most raw materials used in our production process are sourced domestically, with shirts primarily made from U.S.-grown cotton. By keeping our operations in-house, we are able to maintain high standards of quality and affordability.

Our team comprises passionate individuals who love bringing our customers' ideas, passions, and identities to life through the medium of ink and thread. We take great pride in the positive reactions our customers have to our apparel.

The fabric used in our products is 100% cotton, pre-shrunk but with a slight shrinkage expected after washing, similar to other high-cotton garments. The shirts feature a modern, slightly tapered fit, a printed tagless label inside the collar, and a soft, smooth feel due to the ringspun, fine jersey knit construction.

For the printing process, we utilize top-quality QCM screen printing inks manufactured in North Carolina. These inks are vibrant, durable, and highly crack-resistant, ensuring the longevity of our designs. Some of our prints are intentionally designed with a faded or cracked appearance, but our skilled printers ensure the inks always perform as intended.

Our printing equipment, sourced from the reputable M&R company in Illinois, allows us to properly cure the inks and achieve superior results. QCM, the ink manufacturer, has been at the forefront of the industry, transitioning to phthalate-free, CFC-free, and carcinogen-free formulations long before it became the norm.
